Vanguard Peak is an often overlooked location that we love. The flight is a short 10 minutes from Queenstown Airport over the other side of Coronet Peak at a heaight of 1430 metres. It has 260 degree views of surrounding mountains and looks down the valley to the Upper Shotover River. The Peak looks spectacular in winter with snow all around and a distinct ridge-line for great photos. It’s quite easy to walk around and suitable for multiple helicopters to land, with flat areas and golden tussock in summer.
